A HANDBOOK OF SEMANTICS

Abstract

Understanding human language and cognition is fundamentally based on the study of meaning, or semantics. It is an area that connects formal language structure to the depth of human cognition, social interaction, and worldview. The purpose of A Handbook of Semantics is to assist students enrolled in the English Education Department Program at PSDKU Blitar of University PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya in comprehending the meaning and sense issues covered in Semantics class. The table of content displays the instructional points, which are based on multiple source materials (see references). Each chapter concludes with a set of questions and an exercise designed to get students involved in the lecture process and help them formulate their own understanding of semantics and its problems
